There are two wind ensembles in the Kingswood Music School. These wind ensembles form a major part of the music programme at Kingswood College.

The Junior Band is for pupils in the Junior School. The Band rehearses twice a week. Ensemble playing greatly benefits one's musical progress so musicians join the Band as soon as possible after starting lessons. All members attend a Band Camp once a year.

Mr David Scarr directs the Junior Band.

The Concert Band currently has a membership of about thirty-five wind, brass and percussion players. Most members are from the Senior School. Rehearsals are held three times a week in the Music School. The Band tours once a year and performs, in accordance with tradition, at College events throughout the year.
Almost all our public concerts, on the annual tour and locally, are directed in some way towards community outreach and upliftment. The Band has played an annual concert in aid of Grahamstown Hospice since 2010.

Mr Stephen Holder directs the Concert Band.

Some of the woodwind players in the Junior and Concert Bands also play in Clarinet or  Saxophone Ensembles. These ensembles give the musicians an opportunity to extend their skills by playing together on their specific instrument.
