of all of us…
THIS WAS HERITAGE DAY AT KINGSWOOD COLLEGE!
Today our school celebrated Heritage Day and the diverse cultures and people that make up the Kingswood fabric.
There was an explosion of colourful and intricately designed cultural dress, traditional face marking, beads, shwe shwe,’vellies’ to name but a few.
The school came together in the Chapel to mark the day by an event put on by the pupils for the pupils. From song and poetry to a lively ‘sokkie’ rendition, the Chapel became a melting pot of a truly rich and diverse Kingswood family.
A highlight of the event was our Kingswood College Support Staff choir that sang Mgidi a song from the celebration ceremony when a boy comes back from the mountain to be introduced as a man in the Xhosa Culture.
