Steeped in history, The Wyvern is not just the home of the Kingswoodian Club and Old Kingswoodian Club, but also represents the “social heart of the Kingswood community – a point of contact on the campus for young and old, parents of scholars, members of staff and friends of the College” (Gordon Fletcher, Chairman of the Wyvern Union, 1983).
Situated between City Lords (the main rugby field) and the tennis courts, one can always expect a warm welcome and the best company at the Wyvern – besides it’s ideal position on campus that will put you in the heart of whatever College or sporting event is on.
While not a full-time restaurant, The Wyvern tries to anticipate the needs of the community by having meals and refreshments available whenever there are events on campus (the bar being open almost on a daily basis). This means that on most days during Term, anyone can pop into the Wyvern for a quick bite to eat or to quench their thirst.
There is a great buzz of Friday evenings and Saturdays, especially when there are home sporting fixtures.
With it’s two bar areas and well-equipped function room, The Wyvern functions as a venue for both College and private gatherings and events.
The Wyvern is run by Joey and Garth Bradfield. Please feel free to contact them for any catering enquiries and bookings for functions and events.

Run independently from the school, The Wyvern is a self-sustaining non-profit club run by a committee of volunteers from the Kingswoodian community known as the ‘Wyvern Committee’.
