Our home, the Eastern Cape
Our home town of Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), in the Eastern Cape, offers cultural, historical and outdoor adventure opportunities for all who visit, and being away from the bigger centres means our pupils can fully immerse themselves in school life and all the region has to offer.
Home to the annual National Arts Festival, SciFest Africa, The South African Schools Festival, The De Beers English Olympiad and Rhodes University, Makhanda is a cultural, liberal arts and educational hot-bed, and Kingswood pupils have direct access to all these enriching experiences.
Surrounded by some of the best beaches and wildlife reserves in the country, and being in the heart of Frontier Country our pupils also have much to discover, enjoy and learn from calling Kingswood home during their schooling years.
Makhanda is approximately 110 kilometres northeast of Port Elizabeth and 130 kilometres southwest of East London – airport transfers to Port Elizabeth Airport are offered by the school.
