“Leaders become great not because of their power but, because of their ability to empower others” – John Maxwell

Swinging the Lantern

Presenter: Dr Colleen Vassiliou (Kingswood College Head)

No matter what your purpose in life is whether to flourish and thrive in a personal capacity, and/or to make a positive difference in the lives of others, you cannot do any of these unless you look after yourself first. We cannot show the way for others, or ‘swing a shining lantern’, unless we are able to find the light within ourselves to light our own ‘lanterns’ first.

“We all walk in the dark and each of us must learn to turn on his or her own light”

Earl Nightingale
