The Western Cape Branch of the OK Club gathered in Cape Town for a Seniors Bring and Braai. The afternoon was spent laughing and reminiscing!

A group of our senior Western Cape OKs (70+ years old) gathered for a bring and braai luncheon at the Cricket Pavilion at Rondebosch Boys High School in Claremont Cape Town on the 8th of August. Unfortunately, the taxi protests that took place in Cape Town kept quite a few OKs away, especially those travelling through from Somerset West.

This was a great opportunity for OKs to reconnect after many years and many a story was told about life and antics at Kingswood from yesteryear.

Our thanks to the evergreen Wally Wood (OK 1954) for arranging the venue and for being the “braaier-in-chief”. Wally, at the ripe old age of 86 is currently the head groundsman at Rondebosch Boys High School – what an amazing accomplishment. In fact this gathering was the idea of Wally and Rein Badings (OK 1955) and their plan is for this event to repeated on a regular basis. Hopefully the word will get out and we will get more and more of the 70+ group to attend in the future. Watch this space….
