The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) held their awards ceremony in London on the evening of the 14th of December, 2023. This ceremony provides an opportunity for the society to recognise and celebrate “individuals and teams who have made an exceptional contribution in the aerospace, aviation or space industries, whether it is for an outstanding achievement, a major technical innovation, exceptional leadership or for work that will further advance the industry”.
A bronze medal was awarded to Dr Brown for “contributions over several decades to the understanding of rotorcraft aerodynamics. Richard is an internationally acknowledged expert in the aerodynamics of rotorcraft, his latest work is helping the eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) community to understand how some of the characteristics of their designs might interact with proposed regulations and influence the ability of this type of aircraft to operate effectively in the urban environment”.
Well done on receiving this prestigious award, Dr Brown!
