Kingswood College is delighted to announce our exciting new appointments in the cricket space. Kelly Smuts will be the new 1st XI coach and Head of Cricket. Kelly retired from professional cricket earlier this year after collecting 124 first-class caps from 2009 to 2025. Most recently he played with the Garden Route Badgers from 2023-2025 and previously with EP Warriors and Northern Cape Heat. He has also played and coached for clubs in the UK.
We are also excited to announce that Kelly will be assisted by Netherlands Assistant Cricket Coach Ryan Van Niekerk who will be helping on a consulting basis. Ryan is currently in Bangladesh with Netherlands Cricket.
