This year we celebrated 25 years of commitment and a close working relationship with the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club, at our 26th Kingswood Golf Day.

The 26th Kingswood Golf Day, held on 28 December 2025, also marked 25 years of hosting this special event at the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club. This milestone highlights what has become one of the most anticipated fixtures on the Port Alfred calendar. Once again, Old Kingswoodians and friends came together from across South Africa and abroad, united in a shared spirit of tradition, camaraderie, and celebration.

This landmark edition of the golf day proved to be a fitting tribute to 25 years of connection and community. The continued support of our sponsors—many of whom have stood alongside us since the very beginning—remains the backbone of this event. Their loyalty and generosity have ensured not only its longevity but its ongoing success, and for that, we extend our sincere gratitude.

Congratulations go to James Meyer (OK 2005), recipient of the Steve Gardner Trophy for the top Old Kingswoodian golfer of the day. Now based in the United Kingdom, it was especially meaningful to have James back to take part in this milestone event. The presentation of the trophy by Derek Braans, on behalf of the Gardner family, added a poignant and personal element to the occasion. And Congratulations to Ross Meyer (OK 2002) and James Meyer (OK 2005) who won the overall Golf Day.

A total of 258 golfers took to the course, with many travelling considerable distances to be part of the day. Their enthusiasm and commitment continue to define the spirit of the event. Beyond the players, a strong turnout of supporters and attendees contributed to the lively and festive atmosphere that has become synonymous with the Kingswood Golf Day.

The weather played its part beautifully, offering ideal conditions for a day on the fairways. The Royal Port Alfred Golf Club once again delivered an outstanding experience, with a course presented in pristine condition and hospitality that ensured the smooth running of the day. Their role in hosting this event year after year is deeply appreciated.

More than just a round of golf, the day served as a celebration of enduring friendships and shared history. The energy at the prize-giving reflected the strength of the Kingswood community and the deep-rooted connections that continue to bring people back year after year.

Special thanks are extended to Chris Hobson (OK 1990), President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, and Leon Grové, Head of Kingswood College, for their continued support and presence at this significant event.

As we reflect on the success of the 25th Kingswood Golf Day, we are reminded of the powerful sense of belonging that defines this gathering. It stands as a testament to the lasting bonds formed through Kingswood and the importance of maintaining these connections.

We look forward to building on this legacy and welcoming everyone back next year for another memorable occasion. The next Kingswood Golf Day is scheduled for Sunday, 27 December 2026.
