The Botswana Kingswood Golf Day returned in style this past weekend, as the 3rd edition of this much-loved event which was hosted at the Stanbic Gaborone Golf Club. With growing enthusiasm year on year, the day once again proved to be a highlight on the calendar for the Kingswood community in Botswana.

Thanks to the commitment and careful planning of a passionate group of Old Kingswoodians and loyal Kingswood parent, Martin Makgathle, the event drew a full field of players who teed off in a lively shotgun start. Without them this day would not have been possible. Blessed with excellent weather and a course in superb condition, golfers enjoyed a competitive yet social round, with plenty of memorable moments along the way. The day’s play concluded on a high note, with Kingswood proudly securing victory in the Inter-Schools Trophy.

Off the course, the spirit of the occasion continued into the evening, where guests gathered for a vibrant function and auction. The event brought together Old Kingswoodians, current and past parents, as well as prospective families, creating a wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate the shared values and traditions of the Kingswood community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all who attended and contributed to the success of the day. A special word of thanks goes to the generous sponsors and participating schools whose support played a vital role in making the event possible.

The occasion was further enriched by the presence of College Head, Leon Grove, along with Tracy van Mollendorff (Senior Head), Danel Pruissen (Enrolment Experience Officer), Carey Hobson (Director of Advancement), and Dee Hobson from the OK Club Shop.

Finally, heartfelt thanks must go to the dedicated Old Kingswoodians who worked behind the scenes. Mike O’Keefe (OK 1998), Steven Parry (OK 2002), Michele Haskins (nee Judd OK 2000), and Botswana Branch Chairperson Chibayi Bagwasi (OK 1998) were instrumental in ensuring the day’s success. Their ongoing commitment and enthusiasm continue to make this special event possible.
