City Lords 1 XV Rugby Changing Room
The Kingswood Rugby Club Changing Room Project, launched in 2019, is a testament to the strength of Kingswood’s rugby tradition and the enduring support of its alumni. This initiative focuses on upgrading the 1st XV rugby team’s changing room facilities, creating a professional and inspiring environment for players. The room is exclusively for the use of the 1st XV, serving as a source of pride and motivation for younger players to strive for a place on the team.
Support the Legacy
OKs have played a vital role in this project, and their continued contributions ensure its success. There are two ways to leave your mark in the changing room:
- Individual Plaque: Sponsor a booth corresponding to the position/number played in the team. For R10,000, your name, the dates played, and a meaningful quote will be engraved on a personal plaque displayed prominently in the booth.
- General Plaque: For R1,000, have your full name and the dates played inscribed on a general plaque below the individual plaques, ensuring your contribution to Kingswood’s rugby legacy is remembered.

This project has been proudly supported by past 1st Team rugby players since its inception, creating a meaningful connection between past and present players. By contributing to the project, you help sustain the legacy of rugby excellence at Kingswood and ensure that every 1st XV player has a space that reflects the proud traditions of the school.
Your support keeps the spirit of Kingswood rugby alive. Join us in celebrating and strengthening the game that has been such an integral part of the Kingswood experience.
Barry Marshall (OK 1966) was presented with an engraving of his name on Booth 12 in the changing room by his children in honour of his 75th birthday.
Barry is pictured here with his daughter Shanna (Grade 2 teacher at Kingswood) and her husband James Winstanley (1st XV Rugby Coach at Kingswood) . Barry represented Kingswood 1st XV in 1965 and 1966 at number 12.
