Lukho has represented the Kingswood 1st Hockey side on 35 occasions and has always possessed natural ability. This year she explored her potential deeply, recognising early that she can’t only rely on her natural abilities but on a deep work process with constant reflection to grow tactically, psychologically and technically.

This is exactly what Lukho did. After her national U16 selection in 2018 she has been rewarded and identified by Eastern Province and South Africa U17 this year; a testament to her growth and development this season. Lukho has been a provincial representative throughout the age groups and has been identified as part of a select few who are national high performers.

Lukho possesses great athletic potential as well as having skills to get out of tight situations, as well as power in her passing and shooting.

As a team member Lukho possesses strong leadership potential and the ability to lead a group of people to a higher ideal. She always asks the hard questions and accepts tough feedback with a positive attitude. Lukho also encourages her team mates and enjoys a good laugh with them.

It is with great pride that we award Lukho Mbenyana with Honours for Hockey.
