The Kingswood Mountain Bike Club took part in the EP Herald mountain bike race this past weekend.

The cyclists had a great weekend camping at the Addo polo club and enjoying the great atmosphere at this popular event.

The Herald Mountain Bike race is the premier one day mountain bike race in the Eastern Cape and attracts a large range of competitors from all across the country.

The Kingswood riders all did extremely well taking part in the 30km and 5km races. Everyone put in a superb effort in the 40 degree heat and humidity.

In the 30km, Zoe Cocker was the 3rd female overall while in the youth division we had Shayne Price (17), Josh Dold (21), Matthew Brown (24), Ryan Bristow (25), Janu Taljaard (27) and Shiloh Nyakutya (33).

In the sub junior section Benji Cocker and Aidan Knott were placed 17th and 18th respectively.

In the 5km Carla Bristow was the first overall female, while Kirt Gross finished in 2nd place overall.

Elisabeth Grobler finished as the 4th girl in the sprogs. In the 5km nippers race Caryne Grobler was the 11th girl and Jonathan Pienaar was 24th boy.

Our cyclists had an excellent weekend with some of our staff families and parents of our riders joining in for a great fun filled event!
