Teaching is so much more than a profession, it is a calling and today we would like to celebrate our teachers.

During a time when teaching has had to be completely transformed into an online activity, it is quite fitting that this week marks Teacher Appreciation Week.

While uncertainty is the order of the day, and while confusion marks every aspect of our lives, our teachers have stepped up to the plate to make sure that our pupils are not left behind during these difficult times. They have spent hours preparing online lessons, and are spending the better part of their days interacting with their pupils on various online platforms in an effort to create a newly constructed normal situation and to ensure that the process of education continues at our school.

A teacher’s job does not end at the end of a school day, but now, even more so, they are working even longer hours to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible education even though, for the time being, they are not at school.

Many of them are parents themselves, and they simultaneously have to juggle the role of teacher, parent and home-schooler. We take our hats off to you!

Today, we would like to acknowledge our teachers who really are the heroes of the moment, and we would like them to remember that they are:
