“…Every chapter has its end. BUT THEN. Every end has a new beginning…”

Today is a bittersweet moment for us at Kingswood College as we bid farewell to Mrs Jill Long (the Grade R teacher) at the Grade R Graduation Ceremony this morning.

Jill has been a part of the Kingswood family for over 15 years. During her time at Kingswood she has amongst other things been HOD of the Pre-Primary but first and foremost, a very beloved teacher by all her pupils. Gentle. Caring. Kind. This is Jill Long.

She is an extremely dedicated teacher, who has always gone above and beyond for those in her care and we know that many of our pupils are richer for having had her teach and guide them into their Junior and Senior school years.

Jill has always shown a tremendous willingness to learn new ways of doing things and this final year of teaching has definitely emphasized her capacity to adapt, change and move with the times. We thank her for helping us to grow our Kingswoodians into inquisitive, eager, compassionate and caring individuals and the important role that she has played in preparing them for their years at our Junior School.

We asked Jill what she most loves about Kingswood and she had the following to say: “The children make Kingswood the amazing place that it is, and this year more than ever! I have learnt so much from the amazing little Grade R children”.

Thank you Jill for your tremendous contribution to our Kingswood family.

We would like to share the following quote with you today “Remember: after climbing the mountain, you can finally enjoy the view”. Jill we hope that you enjoy your retirement and that you are able to enjoy the ‘view’! You have definitely earned it!
