The Junior Championship Gala took place on Saturday 6 March. Boys and girls from all age groups competed to gain points for their respective houses.

It was evident from the top-level performances that our swimmers had worked very hard this term. A special thanks must go to Mrs Kemp and the Kingswood coaches for all their hard work.

The Neil and Rosemary Dowdle Trophy for 1st place was won by Rich House but the day belonged certainly belonged to one swimmer: Kyle Heyns.

Kyle receiving the U13 Victor Ludorum trophy from College Head, Dr Colleen Vassiliou.

Kyle who hails from Zimbabwe and holds 8 National age-group records arrived at Kingswood Junior this year. On Saturday he broke 5 records including one which had stood for over 40 years.

His performances were truly exceptional, easily on a level of swimmers 5 years older than him. We are very proud of Kyle and we hope that he will continue to break records when he gets to high school.
