A Day In Three Lives

Presenter: Mr Everisto Chabalanda

There are few people who don’t hear the story Everisto Chabalanda has to tell without being in awe of the boy he was and the man he has become.

In this LEAD presentation, Everisto shares a story of a boy who had a dream to be a qualified chartered accountant and how the universe conspired to make this happen.   Growing up in a small village in Zambia, Everisto started his schooling career at Tujatane School, near Victoria Falls.

Through scholarship awards he was able to come to Kingswood in 2009 and after matric in 2013 go on to Rhodes University where he distinguished himself with top academic honors by making the Dean’s List (top 5% of students in the commerce faculty at RU) and Gold Key Honour Society among others.

This is a story about human kindness and resilience meeting to change the world with one good act at a time. Don’t miss it.

About the speaker:

If I can dream it, I can be it. Watch this short documentary of me and my family on my journey to being a CA. My dream is to one day attain success as described by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“What is success? To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch Or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”
