The Kingswood Grand Prix returns to Kingswood!
This past Friday, our Interact Club organised the second annual Kingswood Grand Prix. This fundraising initiative saw staff (yes—staff!) and some pupils piloting pupil-driven wheelbarrows in an effort to raise funds for the APD (Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities – Makana).
The APD is a registered non-profit organisation helping people with most forms of physical disability.
The funds raised will be used to purchase custom-made wheelchairs for people with physical disabilities in Makhanda. The event was a fun filled day for Kingswood pupils but more importantly, it was an opportunity for them to give back to the people in our community.
Each “racing vehicle” is sponsored by businesses and largely by our parent body, and we heartily thank all our sponsors who helped to make this event possible.
We congratulate the winning team who was sponsored by Kwandwe Private Game Reserve at Pilot Tools and which was driven by Mr Mbenyana.
Thank you to Mrs Francine Mwepu from APD who attended the event and handed over the prizes.
