Kingswood is honoured to once again be hosting our annual Uyinene Mrwetyana Commemorative Lecture in the Kingswood Chapel on the 3rd of April 2023.
Each year, we host an annual Uyinene Mrwetyana Commemorative Lecture, in partnership with Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation-UMF.
The vision of this event is to celebrate her life and to take the time to stop, pause and reflect on who Uyinene was and the legacy she left behind.

The Keynote Speaker for the event is Mr Anele Siswana
“Anele has a wide of range of experience in various disciplines in particular to clinical practice, academia, media and spiritual healing. He is a clinical psychologist in full-time private practice and consulting currently practices within the Sandton, Grayston Shopping Center.
He has experience in public service and private sector hospitals. He has worked at Fort England Psychiatric Hospital in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. He then went on to work in Gauteng, at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Gara-Nkuwa, Pretoria. Anele also worked in private sector worked as a consulting psychologist at Life Hospital and Netcare Hospital. As an academic he worked at the University of Johannesburg as an academic/lecturer in the department of psychology. He has published extensively, presented in local and international conferences. He is deemed as a respectable scholar in critical masculinities, decolonisation of psychology and queer studies. He is currently an independent contractor at the University of South Africa (UNISA).” (source)
