On Sunday, the 30th of April, the Midlands Branch of the OK Club hosted a day of cricket and family fun at The Mill Cricket Ground in Bedford. This idyllic cricket field is on Spring Grove, home to the Ainslie family.

This annual event has become a “not to be missed” outing for families. Cars descended on the field, and in no time the picnic blankets and camping chairs were out, and the air was filled with children’s laughter and the camaraderie on the cricket pitch was palpable.

This year the Old Kingswoodian team took on the Bedford Invitational Side. Along with their families and friends, there were over 100 people in attendance. The cricket banter accompanied by the unrivaled joy of children playing together made for the perfect day.

A delicious lunch was served by Karen Morgan (The Butcherbird Restaurant), and the children were even treated to a Birthday party for one of the future Kingswoodian’s in attendance. The day was concluded with a vote of thanks from the President of the OK Club, Chris Hobson and the Junior School Head, James Hough. The biggest thanks must be extended to Hugh and Marcelle Anslie for hosting us all. Your hospitality was much appreciated, and we thank you for your tireless efforts put into preparation. It was a day to be remembered.
