The 2026 K-Day Reunion saw four classes descending on Kingswood College for a weekend filled with laughter, camaraderie and stories shared!

The Old Kingswoodian Club was delighted to welcome back the Classes of 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016 for a truly memorable reunion.

The weekend’s festivities commenced on Thursday, 11 June, with afternoon registration and a highly anticipated 1st Boys’ XI hockey fixture between Kingswood and St Andrew’s College. Kingswood secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory before guests gathered for the Reunion Dinner, held in the marquee at the Wyvern. We were pleased to welcome Mr Leon Grove, Mrs Tracy van Molendorff, Mrs Carissa Wilson (OK 1995), Dee (Hon. OK) & Carey Hobson (OK 1974) as well as the President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, Mr Chris Hobson (OK 1980). Chris warmly welcomed the reunion groups and reflected on the deep significance of each guest’s time at Kingswood.

“Each one of you left your footprint on this campus. You cheered in the stands, cried in exam halls, whispered after lights out, and sang ‘For the Might of Thine Arm’ until your voice cracked. We celebrate the staff who guided you, the grounds that kept you grounded, and the stories that still echo in the boarding houses, the Chapel.”

The evening continued into the night, with laughter echoing across City Lords as old stories were re-lived and lifelong bonds rekindled. It was a night steeped in joy, nostalgia, and the ever-strong ties that unite Kingswoodians long after their final exams.

Friday morning began with coffee and rusks in the Museum, followed by a guided tour of the campus. The programme then moved to the Chapel for the Candle Lighting Ceremony, a meaningful occasion of remembrance and reflection. During the ceremony, each class read its In Memoriam list and lit a candle in memory of classmates who have passed away. The In Memoriam lists were read as follows:

The formal reunion programme concluded with a delicious brunch and a time of fellowship in the Kingswood Museum. Mr Leon Grove, College Head, together with the Heads of School, addressed the reunion groups and warmly welcomed everyone back to Kingswood for a memorable weekend of celebration and reconnection. Following brunch, class photographs were taken at the Wyvern before attendees gathered for lunch, bringing the official reunion proceedings to a close.

Thereafter, attention shifted to the weekend’s sporting fixtures, with alumni, families, and guests enjoying a full programme of sport across the campus. The festive atmosphere continued at the Wyvern throughout the weekend, providing opportunities for old friends to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and support Kingswood’s teams from the sidelines.

The weekend concluded successfully, with our Girls’ 1st Team Netball side recording an impressive victory, while our 1st Rugby XV produced a commanding performance to secure a convincing win over St Andrew’s College on Lower Field.

And finally, to every single person who made the effort to attend – thank you. It was truly wonderful to have you back at Kingswood. We hope to welcome you home again in the not-too-distant future.
