The Kingswood Team and the OK Club had a wonderful visit to Zambia, which included school visits, OK Club functions and even a golf day!
A combined marketing/Kingswoodian Club team visited Zambia 20 – 25 May 2024. Our College Head, Leon Grove’ and Enrolment XPerience Officer, Danel Pruissen kicked off their school visits at Victoria Falls Primary before moving north with visits to Acacia Primary in Livingstone and Musikili Primary School in Mazabuka. Our thanks to Old Kingswoodian Craig Evans for being such a great host in Livingstone as well as past KC staff member Joanne Kelly in Mazabuka.
The team then travelled up to Lusaka on Friday 24 May where they were joined by Carey Hobson (Head of Advancement) for the Kingswoodian Club function held at The Quorum Hotel. A happy group of OKs and past parents gathered for a fun evening where many Kingswood stories were regaled. Leon Grove addressed the group during which he thanked our Zambians for the amazing support that they have given to Kingswood through many generations.
It was an early start on Saturday morning to get to the airport where Andrew Woodley was waiting to fly the team to Mkushi in his trusty Cessna. Paul Francis was at the airfield to meet the team before whisking them off to Francis Farms for a sumptuous breakfast. They were soon on their way to the Mkushi Club where Kingswood hosted a bumper golf day. A big field entered in the golf competition – the weather was superb, the course was in great condition and above all the camaraderie was great. At the conclusion of the golf prize giving took place followed by a lovely meal. We cannot thank Paul Francis enough for all the time and effort that he put into the organization of this golf day – his attention to detail was immaculate and who will forget his address to the community before the prize giving! What a loyal and passionate Kingswoodian. We were also most grateful to Andrew Woodley for offering to fly us to Mkushi – it was such a treat to fly over the beautiful Zambian countryside and farms, many of which belong to our Kingswood family.
It was great connecting with our Kingswoodians – the team left with no doubt that we have a healthy footprint in Zambia – a partnership that has been fostered over many decades.
