On Saturday the 30th of November, the Kingswoodian Club met in Bedford for the annual Midlands Dinner. A wonderful evening was had together – with laughter and Kingswood spirit filling the air.
The annual Midlands Dinner is a much looked forward to event in the Kingswoodian Club calendar – and this year did not disappoint. Despite a very busy time of the year for everyone, Kingswoodians and friends met at the Bedford Club for a wonderful meal and evening together.
Leon (College Head) and Jackie Grové, David (Senior Head) and Jessie Wright and Carissa (Junior Head: 2025) and Edward Wilson all drove up from Makhanda to be a part of the evening with us. We also welcomed President of the OK Club, Chris Hobson as well as Vice-Chair of Council and Active Vice-Chair of the OK Club, Richard Gaybba. Charles Wienand was our Old Andrean representative, and it was wonderful that he could join us. We value our ongoing friendship with the Old Andrean community. The Kingswoodian Club thanks them all for taking the time to join us.
College Head, Leon Grové addressed the guests, speaking on the importance and value of the four quotients: Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), Social Quotient (SQ), and Adversity Quotient (AQ). He emphasized the significance of these quotients on not only Kingswood pupils of the past – but also of current Kingswoodians – highlighting the value of harnessing these quotients in future generations.
A special thanks must go to Keith and Karen Morgan and their team who treated us to a delicious meal. It was a wonderful evening spent with both old and new friends. We wish our Midlands family a blessed and safe festive season with your loved ones. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
