The annual Legends Fund Golf Day took place at the Belmont Golf Club on Thursday 15 June 2023 under some heavy cloud, rain and generally rather terrible conditions – the weather failed to dampen the spirits of the golfers however, who took to the course and succeeded in making this Legends Golf Day, one of the most successful ever had.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that the Kingswood learners are ready for the winter term at school. It is sure to be busy and filled with opportunities to learn, play and grow. This term I will be writing to you more frequently than usual on a number of topics that underpin what we do at Kingswood. My first letter will focus on our Methodist ethos. This past week has seen our campus abuzz with painting, dancing, singing, filming and creating various pieces as part of our annual Cultural Week.
Every year, Kingswood College honours the life of Uyinene Mrwetyana, an old Kingswoodian (OK’ 2018) who lost her life far too soon to gender-based violence. The vision of the event is to celebrate her life and to take the time to stop, pause and reflect on who Uyinene was and the legacy she has left behind.

Our Senior Netball Girls brought the HEAT across the board yesterday afternoon culminating in a nail-biting 1st Team match against DSG.
In a heart-warming display of unity and remembrance, the class of 1982 celebrated their 40th Reunion in March 2022 by undertaking a fundraising effort that culminated in the establishment of the Garden of Remembrance outside Kingswood’s Memorial Chapel.
This morning our Kingswood pupils were fortunate enough to attend a talk in our Kingswood College Memorial Chapel by Dr Emmanuel Taban. While the talk centred on his own life journey, the true power of Dr Taban’s talk was the fact that he told our pupils to not only be dreamers, but to be doers. The road to success is not an easy one. Many obstacles will inevitably come our way. It is how we choose to face those obstacles, which will predict our true success.
