The Kingswood College Foundation is pleased to share an important update in our long-standing partnership with the Rhodes University Trust USA, the 501(c)(3) organisation that enables our Old Kingswoodians and friends in the United States to give to Kingswood in a tax-efficient way.
As part of this partnership, 1% of the value of all donations to Kingswood through the Rhodes USA Trust will now be for the benefit the newly launched Rhodes University 120th Anniversary Merit Scholarship. This fund will support a talented, under-resourced student from our local community, offering them the opportunity to attend Rhodes University after school. This small contribution has a big impact – strengthening educational opportunity and uplifting our community as a whole.
This initiative has been shaped through thoughtful conversations with the Rhodes Trust USA Trustees, St Andrew’s College, and DSG, all of whom benefit from this shared partnership. Together, we asked how best to acknowledge the time, expertise, and generosity these Trustees gift to our schools. The outcome was a commitment to something that reflects our shared values — a fund that honours their service while opening new doors for a young person from our region. In this, we are stronger together, and we hope you will join us in supporting this initiative.
Importantly for our USA Donors, 100% of every donor’s contribution will continue to go directly to the project they choose to support. Kingswood will cover the 1% contribution separately.
