In a significant step towards environmental sustainability and energy independence, Kingswood College celebrated the completion of its new solar plant on Saturday, July 13, 2024 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Led by the College Council Executive, the event marked a milestone in the school’s 130-year history and its commitment to a greener future.
In an exciting development for supporters of Kingswood College, USA-based donors can now enjoy tax benefits for their contributions thanks to a new partnership with the Rhodes University Trust (RUT) USA.
Since its launch in February this year, the Livestock Fund has continued to grow at a steady pace thanks to the outpouring of support the project has received.
On Friday the 1st of December 2023, Kingswood College hosted its second Legacy Dinner to recognise donors and volunteers for their generous support of the school during the past two years.

2023 has been a key turning point in time for one of Kingswood’s longest-standing endowment funds, the Macmillan Scholarship Fund.
Last week on Friday the Kingswood Livestock Fund was re-launch at an event at The Wyvern. Despite very inclement weather, the support was incredible, with over 70 people attending the evening.
With the welcome rains and our return to the College campus, we look forward to an exciting and busy first term. It is such a great honour for me to head up such an important and historical institution and I would like to thank all our Kingswoodian families that have been so welcoming over the past few weeks. Makhanda is already beginning to feel like home. I look forward to the year and am cognizant of the challenges that I may face, however I look forward to serving the Kingswood community for many years to come.
Kingswood College is humbled and proud to announce the launch of our very first Legacy Scholarship, The Trevor Stewart Scholarship, for 2023. A fully funded scholarship for a child or grandchild of an Old Kingswoodian. This scholarship is named after its benefactor, Mr Trevor Stewart (OK 1963 Chubb).
The Summer Term of 2021 is over and while Covid remains, it was heart-warming to see school-life increasingly return to normal as the term went on. For the Kingswood Foundation, big projects on the horizon covered in this newsletter include the urgent renewal of the astroturf, advertising opportunities around City Lords and the astro, the Exemplar Wall and the ‘stronger together’ campaign for the Legends Fund to name a few.
