Kingswood is proud to announce the launch of the Kingswood College UK Trust, a registered UK charity established to channel the generosity and passion of our global Kingswood community into meaningful impact back home in South Africa.

We believe wholeheartedly that education is a powerful force for change, and we invite our friends, Old Kingswoodians, and partners across the United Kingdom to be part of this mission with us.

The Kingswood College UK Trust (Charity Number: 1212824) represents a significant milestone in our school’s evolution. This charitable vehicle enables our UK-based supporters – Old Kingswoodians, families, and friends – to make meaningful contributions to our mission through tax-efficient giving.

“Kingswood exists to release young adults who think independently, act ethically, belong deeply and contribute responsibly in a complex and often divided world,” explains Leon Grove, Head of Kingswood College. “The establishment of the UK Trust arises from a shared conviction that Kingswood’s future must be protected, strengthened and widened for generations to come.”

The Trust is led by distinguished members of our community who embody the values and commitment that define Kingswood:

Mr Chris Meyer (OK 1987) serves as Chair of the Trust and also chairs our Centenary and Scholarship and Bursary Trust. He is joined by Mr Chris Hobson (OK 1990), President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, and Mr Richard Gaybba (OK 2001), Chair of the Kingswood College Council.

Together, they represent the enduring ties that unite our investments, our alumni, and the school we serve – and which will carry Kingswood forward.

“Financial need remains the single greatest barrier to access in education,” notes Head Leon Grove. “In Africa especially, schools such as Kingswood are not only places of learning, but anchors for families and the wider community- sanctuaries where potential is recognised, values are shaped and hope is cultivated.”

The Trust recognises that when our global community acts together, individual contributions become transformative. Through the generosity of our supporters, we can provide stability, widen access, and build a legacy rooted in stewardship rather than entitlement.

For our families and friends residing in the United Kingdom, the Trust offers a wonderful opportunity to make tax-efficient contributions through Gift Aid. This means that for every pound you donate, HMRC adds an additional 25p at no cost to you – significantly amplifying your impact.

“By investing in Kingswood through the UK Trust, you are not simply supporting a school,” reflects Leon Grove. “You are safeguarding a legacy, strengthening the community we serve, and affirming that education, when rooted in values, remains one of the most powerful forces for good in our world.”

Whether you are a proud Old Kingswoodian, a current or former parent, or simply someone who believes in the transformative power of education, we invite you to be part of this journey.

Together, across continents, we continue to make a difference.
