As the sun set over Kingswood on Sunday evening, the Class of 2025, accompanied by their parents, guardians, siblings or special friends, processed up the Jubilee Pathway for one of the most symbolic events in the school calendar, the Old Kingswoodian (OK) Club Tie Presentation Ceremony.
This annual event, held during Parents Week, marks a defining milestone in every Kingswoodian’s journey – the moment they prepare to leave the College as pupils and step forward as Old Kingswoodians, joining a proud community of alumni that stretches across generations and around the world.
At the top of the pathway stood Mr Leon Grove, College Head, and Mr Richard Gaybba (OK 2001), Chairman of Council, together representing the school as they bid farewell to the leavers. This moment symbolised the College releasing its pupils into the care of the Old Kingswoodian Club, where they are welcomed as lifelong members of the Kingswood family.
Following this farewell, the Matrics received their OK Club Life Membership certificates and ties from Mr Chris Hobson (OK 1990), President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, assisted by Junior Head, Mr Carissa Wilson (OK 1995).
This year’s guest speaker, Mr Hobson, addressed the Class of 2025 both as OK Club President and as a proud parent, with his son James among those walking the pathway. Adding to the evening’s significance, the Class of 2025 handed over the funds they had raised during the year to the Legends Bursary Fund, ensuring their contribution will support bursaries for future Kingswoodians.
The ceremony was filled with emotion and pride. For the Matrics, it marked the beginning of the end of their school journey, and for their families it was a moment to celebrate how far their children have come and the young men and women they have become.
For the Old Kingswoodian Club, the evening provided the opportunity to welcome the newest members into the global OK family, to celebrate shared history, and to pass on the timeless values that define what it means to be a Kingswoodian.
As another class prepares to write the final chapter of their Kingswood story, the OK Club looks forward to walking alongside them as they begin their next great adventure as Old Kingswoodians.
To the Class of 2025, welcome to the Old Kingswoodian Club!
