Kingswood won the toss and had no hesitation batting on a good looking surface on Somerset field.

Kingswood suffered the early loss of Darius Govender (1). Ethan Maddocks (16) and Mihlali Jamda (35) fought hard in a solid partnership of 50 runs for the 2nd wicket. There was plenty of movement early on and the impressive Sonwabile Thsona bowled well without any reward. Matthew Pritchard (20) and Nathan Wolff (28) combined well in a 45 run partnership for the 4 wicket before both batters were dismissed on the stroke of lunch.

Kingswood went into lunch on 130/5 after 40 overs. With a possible 65 overs left in the days play Kingswood needed to press on after lunch and then declare leaving themselves enough time to bowl Graeme out.

Graeme struck a double blow straight after lunch leaving Kingswood teetering on 138/7. Matthew Stretton (51 not out) and Luke Kelly (31 not out) scored 84 runs for the 8th wicket in 11 overs. This was a brilliant partnership which gave the Kingswood innings much needed momentum. Kingswood declared their innings on 222/7, leaving themselves 50 overs to try bowl Graeme out.

In reply, Graeme were under early pressure at 11/3 thanks to some brilliant bowling by Caleb Daniels (3/14) and Sbu Zweni (1/16). Garwin Dampies (44) and Sonwabile Tshona (17) showed tremendous determination in a fighting partnership of 64 runs for the 4th wicket. Michael Fourie (2/18) bowled a match winning spell into the wind as he removed both Tshona and Dampies and left Graeme hanging on at 80/5 with 18 overs left in the day. Matthew Stretton (4/31) was the pick of the bowlers as he wrapped the game for Kingswood. With 4 overs left in the day Graeme were  finally dismissed for 93 runs, handing Kingswood victory by 129 runs.
