The prizes awarded at Awards Ceremonies that are held each term form part of the formal recognition of pupil achievement at Kingswood College. This award was awarded on the 8th of February 2021 at the Academic Awards Ceremony and reflects the results from the 2020 Third Term.
Academic Honours can only be achieved during the examination terms of Grade 11 and 12 and a total of 580 marks (an 83% mark average) must be achieved. This is a phenomenal achievement and we would like to congratulate Colby on getting his Honours Award for Academics.
Colby is a diligent young man who shows a great tenacity towards all aspects of his academic journey. He approaches his studies in a very responsible manner that is to be admired, going beyond displaying just an astute understanding of concepts that are taught across his chosen subjects.
Colby has the natural ability to find beauty and significance in seemingly ordinary situations. His writing, being both beautifully descriptive and intellectually stimulating, speaks to his curious mind. His talent for intertextual referencing is reflective of his keen interest in history, philosophy, and the broader world around him. His critical thinking skills have attributed to his astonishing performance and serves as an example of what a well-rounded mind can produce. Colby often has the confidence to share his opinions, many of which are seen differently from his peers or understood from a different perspective, and to make sound arguments as evidence of his commitment to his experiences.
Having fulfilled the requirements and in acknowledgement of Colby’s approach to academics, he is awarded Honours for Academics.
