Setting themselves up for success…

With three days of non-stop cricket and the opportunity to meet, train and learn from some of the best, the Kingswood College Cricket Clinic, which kicked off yesterday, is the perfect start to the upcoming cricket season.

Kingswood College welcomed close to 40 very enthusiastic and keen young cricketers to this three-day training clinic. The afternoon programme started with a warm up, which consisted of various conditioning games.

Players then moved on to a session of fielding work which comprised of slip catching, high catching, throwing at the stumps and a run out drill.

The final session of the day focused around batting and in particular, front foot shots.

A highlight for many of the players was having the opportunity to learn from and interact with Mr Ryan Cook, former Bangladesh Fielding Coach, and the Current Head Coach and Coaching Director at Gary Kirsten Cricket.

The Clinic is headed up by Mr Andrew Birch (Kingswood College High Performance Cricket Coach and ex-Warriors Cricketer), Mr Murray Ranger (Director of Kingswood College Sport), Mr Ryan Cook (Gary Kirsten Cricket and the Co-founder of CoachEd)

We also have a number of support coaches who are assisting throughout the clinic, ensuring that the players are getting some one-on-one training.
Day 2 is already afoot and our boys and coaches are looking forward to full day of cricketing action.
