Kingswood College must commend the Matric Class of 2023 who received 91% bachelor degree pass.

Mrs Tracy van Molendorff, Kingswood Senior School Head of Academics, said: “We take great pride in celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2023. We applaud the individuals who have earned distinctions and commend those who, through unwavering perseverance, have successfully reached their academic goals. Our dedicated staff deserves recognition for their exceptional efforts in fostering an environment where the Class of 2023 could thrive and realize their full individual potential. As they embark on the next phase of their life journey, we extend our heartfelt best wishes to the Class of 2023, anticipating their continued success and achievements.”

Our head Boy Azolile  Mbanga received a full house of distinctions with 7 A’s (Accounting, First Language English, IT, IsiXhosa first Additional, LO, Mathematics, Physical Sciences), including a 95% for Mathematics, Azolile is also an accomplished musician and played 2nd  trumpet  in Kingswood College Concert Band. He is hoping to get into the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme at the University of Debrecan in Hungary to study there later this year.

Our head Girl Amy Hobson also did very well, achieving 4 A’s for Afrikaans, LO, Life Sciences and Mathematics. Amy was also awarded Sportswomen of the year at our Sports Awards dinner at the end of 2023 having played 1st team netball, 1st team hockey, and 1st team Water Polo.

Taylor Williamson achieved an outstanding 6A’s (Afrikaans, Engineering Graphics and Design, English Home Language, IT, LO, Mathematics) narrowly missing 7A’s by just one percent  with a 79% for Science. Taylor will be studying Mechatronics at the University of Stellenbosch.

Our Dux Scholar for 2023, Taryn Hurley received 5A’s for Business Studies, Engineering  Graphics and Design, English Home Language, IT, LO, Mathematics. Taryn was also an outstanding athlete, both on the athletics field and on the netball court where she played in the 1st team and is planning to study Bachelor of Data Science at Stellenbosch University this year.

Our 1st team Hockey Captain and Head of Gane Boarding House, Niza-Sulanji Simukonda received 5 A’s and is planning on either studying  Medicine at Wits University or International Finance and Accounting in Amsterdam.

Also receiving 5 A’s were Kayleigh Mildenhall and  Amazing Vheriwa.

Receiving 4A’s were Elizabeth Bain, Amy Hobson, Lara Sheard, Lilly Winstanley and Kayleigh Smith.

Receiving 3A’s were Alexander Holder, Sophia Moser, Florence (Pendi) Nyonyozi (our deputy Head Girl), Phikolomzi Petse (1st team Rugby Captain), Jasmine Schuster and Cady Wales. Phikolomzi  will be studying mechanical Engineering at UCT  where he has received a Rugby Scholarship.

Azolile Mbanga, our Head Boy for 2023 received a full house of distinctions.
