Over the weekend, Rosko Specman (OK 2008) and the Blitzboks (South African Sevens Team) secured third place at the Paris Olympics in a closely contested match against Australia.

After a tough start at the Olympics for the Blitzboks, they went on to show incredible determination as they made it through to the Semi-Finals against France. With an unfortunate loss against France, they found themselves up against Australia in a battle for bronze. Undeterred, the Blitzboks came out on top, beating Australia 26-19.

Rosko Specman (OK 2008) is a dynamic winger for the Blitzboks, and has been since 2014. He was born in Makhanda, and attended Mary Waters and then Kingswood College for his schooling, where he played on the wing for the Kingswood 1st XV and was given his well-known nickname, “Speckmagic”. After school, Rosko went on to play professional rugby. As well as playing and scoring points for various South African franchise teams, Rosko has scored a massive 380 points for the Blitzboks during his 32 matches played.
