A fitting entry of 250 golfers took part in the 25th annual Kingswood Port Alfred Golf Day which took place this year on the 29th of December.
The 25th edition of the Kingswood Golf Day took place on 29 December 2024 at the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club, marking a significant milestone in its proud history. This event, undoubtedly the biggest golf day in Port Alfred for the year, was a resounding success, bringing together Old Kingswoodians and friends from across South Africa and abroad in the true spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our sponsors, many of whom have generously supported this event since its inception 25 years ago. Your steadfast commitment has been instrumental in sustaining the success of this annual gathering, and we deeply appreciate your contributions.
We extend our congratulations to Brett Hobson (OK 2005), who was awarded the prestigious Steve Gardner Trophy for the best Old Kingswoodian golfer of the day. Brett is now residing in Australia so it was wonderful that he could join us on the day. A special thanks to Ashley Tansley (nee Gardner OK 2009) for presenting this esteemed trophy in honour of her late father, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the ceremony.
Our gratitude also goes to the 250 golfers who participated, many of whom travelled long distances to join us. Your dedication and enthusiasm are what make the day so special. We also recognize the all the attendees who came through to share in the festive atmosphere and the Kingswood spirit.
The weather was splendid, providing perfect conditions for a memorable day on the course. The Royal Port Alfred Golf Club deserves high praise for their immaculate course and exceptional hospitality. Thank you for hosting us and ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
This golf day is more than just a sporting event; it is a cherished tradition that brings Old Kingswoodians and friends together to celebrate friendship and shared heritage. The vibrant atmosphere at the prize-giving ceremony, was a testament to the enduring Kingswood spirit.
