A very successful visit to the Southern & Western Cape for the OK Club

The OK Club held one event in George and three events in the Western Cape over half term. It was amazing to catch up with our Kingswood family in Cape Town, Stellenbosch and surrounding areas.

As has become tradition, the OK Club usually holds a function in the first term in both Cape Town and Stellenbosch or Somerset West. This year we decided to include a trip to George, which was a great addition. This year saw our biggest turnout throughout all our events, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

On Wednesday evening 18 February, we hosted a lovely dinner at Amanita Restaurant, Fancourt – Thank you to Andy Blew (OK 1978) for arranging this this. We enjoyed drinks and a lovely meal together, where lots of stories were shared.

On Friday 20 February, we hosted two events. First stop was Root44 Restaurant outside Stellenbosch, we had over 20 Kingswoodians gather for a delicious meal in the winelands, which was enjoyed by all. Whilst this was a smaller function, there was once again great camaraderie among old as well as new friends. Next stop was Monterey, in Bishopscourt, Cape Town, where Pam Hare treated us to a lovely meal and we had over 90 Kingswoodians and their families join us. A great evening, lots of children running on the grass, an exciting game of lawn cricket was enjoyed, and lots of story-telling and reminiscing amongst old friends. We were lucky to have Tracy Van Molendorff (Head of Senior School) and Danel Pruisen (Enrolment Officer) join us from school for this event.

On Sunday evening we joined the students in Stellenbosch for a lovely catch-up at Casa Cervesa for pizzas, wine and beer. Thank you to Tracy Van Molendorff (Head of Senior School) for joining us. We had an amazing turnout and there were over 70 OK’s joining us, with the class of 2025 making up at least 20 odd of the group.
