Family Day of Cricket, at the Mill Cricket Club, Bedford

It was a perfect day for cricket in the picturesque Eastern Cape Midlands, as Old Kingswoodians, Old Andreans, and their friends and families gathered for the much-anticipated annual friendly match at The Mill Cricket Club near Bedford.

Set against a backdrop of rolling countryside and clear skies, the event once again proved to be a highlight on the alumni calendar, bringing together camaraderie, competition, and community spirit. The match itself delivered memorable moments, with Old Kingswoodian Kyle van Niekerk stealing the show with a wonderful century, reminding everyone that class is indeed permanent.

The success of the day would not have been possible without the generous support of several individuals. Sincere thanks go to Hugh and Marcelle Ainslie for their warm hospitality and for preparing the field so beautifully for the occasion. Appreciation is also extended to Karen and Keith Morgan (OK 1977), along with their dedicated team, for providing excellent catering throughout the day.

Finally, gratitude must be expressed to Kyle van Niekerk (OK 2008) and Chris Hobson (OK 1990), President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, whose efforts and organisation ensured the smooth running and continued success of this cherished annual event.
