Hosted by the Western Province Cricket Club last weekend (25th-27th March 2022), Cape Town Sixes is one of the most exciting amateur sporting and lifestyle festivals in Africa, and Old Kingswoodian’s got front row seats.
The Western Cape Branch of the OK Club arrange the get-together at the festival and smashed it out of the park with their very own ‘KC Corner’!
Thanks to the support of some OKs, we even fielded a team for the cricket section and reached the quarter-finals. Well done!
A huge thank you must go to the Branch Committee for arranging such a fantastic opportunity for OKs to come together. Special thanks to Ryan Christian (OK 1992) who is one of the organisers of the Cape Town Sixes itself and who was instrumental in making it happen.
The 2022 sports line-up of the festival included cricket, 6-a-side football, touch rugby, and squash – and that is all besides the food trucks, live entertainment, and kids’ area. With such a variety of things on offer we hope it can become a fixture in the OK Club calendar!
A portion of team sales and sponsorship funding of the Cape Town Sixes festival goes to Hit Poverty For a Six, which facilitates the participation of local development teams.
