Warne and his wife, Wendy purchased a 2000 acre property in the Eastern Cape in 1999. Through hard work and dedication – they have turned the property into what it is today. Buffalo Kloof is now a 54 000 acre conservancy – which boasts diverse wildlife, including black and white rhino, elephant, cheetah, leopard, hippo and buffalo.
Warne’s passion lies in “demonstrating that ecotourism, hunting, and conservation can seamlessly coexist in a single destination”. He believes strongly in conservation through hunting.
It is no surprise that with all of this excellent work for conservation, that Warne and the Buffalo Kloof team was nominated and shortlisted as one of six finalists for the Beretta and SCI Foundation Conservation Leadership Award.
“The award honors those unique individuals that represent the ultimate embodiment of the hunter-conservationist philosophy and contribute generously to conservation, education and humanitarian services efforts in both time and financial resources”.
The award gala took place on 30 January in Nashville, Tennessee, and whilst the 2023 award winner was not Warne and Buffalo Kloof – Kingswood congratulates him on this incredible achievement. This is wonderful recognition for someone who emanates a passion for conservation. Well done to you and your team, Warne!
