The Old Kingswoodian Club welcomed the Class of 2024 as it’s newest members on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday afternoon, the Kingswood family gathered on a beautiful afternoon for the annual OK Club Tie Presentation Ceremony. This ceremony has become a symbolic representation of the end of the school journey, and the beginning of a new journey as Old Kingswoodians. The Matrics walked the Jubilee Pathway with their families and loved ones to receive their ties from the President of the Old Kingswoodian Club, Mr Chris Hobson. For those Matrics whose parents were themselves OKs, they were presented their ties by their parents as a meaningful gesture, symbolising the continuation of the Kingswood legacy.

This year we welcomed guest speaker Mr James Connan (OK 1991). James is not only himself an OK, but he is also the son of an OK, and a father to this years Deputy Head Boy, Jason. In an incredibly poignant moment, James spoke to the Matric Class of 2024 wearing a Kingswood basher worn by his father, Ernest Connan (OK 1963). James spoke about the privilege of tradition at Kingswood, and urged the Matrics to be cognisant of what they have been exposed to during their time at Kingswood College. Thank you for sharing with us, James. It was incredibly special for us to have you as part of this significant ceremony.

The Class of 2024 then handed over the money raised as a class throughout the year to The Legends Fund. This money will go towards bursaries given by The Legends Fund.

The Junior School boarders delivered their rendition of the school war-cry to end off this significant ceremony.

To the Class of 2024 – welcome to the Old Kingswoodian Club! We wish you all the best with your exams, and we look forward to being a part of your next exciting chapter.
