After an incredibly successful career as a cricket coach across South Africa, Mark is now set to fulfil his dream of working with the Warriors, as he and his family head back to the Eastern Cape for him to join the team for their 2024/25 domestic season.

It has always been a dream of mine to work at the Dafabet St George’s Park Cricket Ground and the the Warriors, so I am really looking forward to it” – Mark Charlton

Mark is a Level 4 coach, graduating from the Nelson Mandela University. He has successfully coached at the Momentum Multiply Titans for eight years, as well as the Northern Cape Heat for three years. In addition to his domestic coaching career, he has also served as the SA20 Paarl Royals batting coach.

Mark decision to return to the Eastern Cape is driven by family reasons, as well as his love for the local cricket landscape.

“I grew up playing for the Eastern Province teams all the way through to the academy and have always been a huge fan of what was Eastern Province back in the day before the establishment of the current professional set up which evolved into the Warriors”

The Warriors will start their season off with a clash against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in the CSA T20 Challenge, which will take place in Gqeberha on 29 September. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to pop in to Dafabet St George’s Park Cricket Ground to support Mark.

We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next leg of his professional journey, and Kingswood looks forward to seeing much more of him! Good luck, Mark!
