News from the Junior School
We started our Winter holiday last Friday, and what a well-deserved break this will be for our pupils and staff alike. We spoke to Mrs Amy Ballantyne recently to share her teaching philosophy with us and to talk to her about how they have tackled online learning in the Foundation Phase at the Junior School.
A number of our Junior School musicians played in the Sundowner Concert held on Thursday 3 June.
The programme feature music for brass (trumpet and euphonium), woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone), violin and piano. We heartily congratulate each and every pupil who played in this Sundowner Concert.

Last week our Junior School had a very busy week with Eisteddfods taking place for isiXhosa, Afrikaans and English.
Twenty-five pupils entered the Eastern Cape SASMT (South African Society of Music Teachers) Mini Maestro Digital Music Competition this year.
Last Wednesday, our Junior School hosted our Term 2 Interhouse General Knowledge Quiz for Grade 6s and 7s.
Kingswood Junior pupil, Kyle Heyns took part in the the Harare Swimming Championships in November and December last year. The results of records broken at the championships were recently released and we must congratulate Kyle who broke both the 50m and 100m backstroke records.
Inspired by the UN’s World Creativity and Innovation Day that was celebrated in April our Junior School hosted a Science, Creativity and Technology Day yesterday. Check out what the Preppies did on the day.
A challenge of our senses to raise awareness for those with no (or a limited) sense of sight. Nineteen musicians (including ten pupils) presented a programme for the Concert in the Dark on Friday evening, with most of them performing in more than one item.
