Kingswood College hosted St Andrew’s College in an enthralling encounter on Saturday. This tense derby was played out in tough greasy conditions ensuring that the score would remain close throughout. Kingswood College opened the score to take a 7-0 lead late into the first half after both teams kicked often in the wet.
On Friday night, the 1st XI hockey boys played a match against St Andrew’s College under our City Lords Lights.
With the Moonlit Market on the go and campus abuzz with supporters and cheering from the sidelines: the scene was set.
Both of our 1st XI Hockey teams got to travel to East London this past weekend to take part in Tony Godding Festival and the Greg Beling Festival (boys and girls respectively).
Kingswood College 1st XV started the match with fantastic intent on Saturday on their first visit to the Queens College 22m area. A solid line out drive followed by a backline launch saw outside center Tadiwa Chikutiro score underneath the posts to take a 7-0 lead.
The return of school rugby and more importantly the return of spectators made for a carnival atmosphere at City Lords, Kingswood College.
Kingswood celebrates their 1st Boys and 1st Girls Tennis players for an undefeated run, and a well-deserved WIN!
The Selborne/Clarendon Singles and Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament took place in East London from Friday, 4th March to Saturday, 5th March. It is a gruelling competition where the top 6 1st team boys and girls have to play singles and mixed doubles against their opponents – this totals 18 matches per round!

In a move designed to bring the sport of cricket to as many young learners as possible, an exciting initiative was launched at Kingswood College on Wednesday afternoon. e to many talented young people, especially in the sports arena, but very often this talent cannot be identified, nurtured or taken further, due to a lack of infrastructure and facilities. The Young Warriors Cricket Development Programme is a pilot project and takes the form of a partnership between three local primary schools (George Dickerson, St Mary’s and Grahamstown Primary), Kingswood College, the Rhodes University HKE (Human Kinetics & Ergonomics) Department and the Rhodes Community Engagement Office (RUCE), as well as the Gary Kirsten Foundation.
Our Squash players took part in the Dave Hodgson Festival this past weekend. This festival is one of the highlights on the Eastern Cape Squash circuit and has many of the top schools in the country participating in it.
