Uyinene Mrwetyana Inaugural Commemorative Lecture

On Monday, 29 March 2021, Kingswood College hosted the inaugural Uyinene Mrwetyana Commemorative Lecture in partnership with the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation.

The vision for this annual event was that it should seek to remember and celebrate the life of Uyinene around the time of her birthday each year. A day to stop, pause and reflect on who Uyinene was and the legacy that she has left behind.

Steve Gardner honoured at Port Alfred Golf Day

Steve Gardner retired from the Kingswood staff at the end of 2020 having served as Business Manager at Kingswood for 15 years from January 2006 till December 2020. His contribution to the school was immense and under his astute guidance many changes and new buildings popped up on the Kingswood campus. However, Steve’s passion for Kingswood was shared with his passion for golf, especially at his home club, The Royal Port Alfred Golf Club.

The recipient of this year’s Neil Aggett Award is a young woman of great character, who has played many leadership roles in the College, and impressed all those who come into contact with her. 2021 Neil Aggett Memorial Lecture

On Thursday morning, 18 March 2021, the annual Neil Aggett Memorial Lecture was delivered at Kingswood College. The lecture takes place each year to celebrate the life of Dr Neil Aggett and is held to honour his legacy. This year we held a hybrid Neil Aggett Memorial Lecture with Dr Zweli Mkhize as this year’s speaker.

Kingswoodians gather under the oaks at the Mill Cricket Ground

Catching up with David Denton (OK 2008)

David (OK 2008) and Shelley (nee Kent OK 2008) visited Kingswood this morning with their young son Logan in tow. David enjoyed sharing his Kingswood memories and international experiences with Kingswood’s Director of Rugby and 1st XV Head Coach Jonny Mallett and fellow 1st XV Coach Murray Ranger. A highlight for the family was to see David’s Scottish rugby jersey mounted and framed in the High-Performance Centre.
