KC Women’s Month Series: “…as much as you can plan your life and have various checkpoints and tick boxes, life will inevitably take twists and turns that throw you off this path. So long as you keep the vision in sight, you can still always achieve those milestones but the journey may well be very different. You also find out a lot about who you are and who “your people” are during the toughest of these climbs.” – Ms Ashley Wood (OK 2002)
Our KC Women’s Month Series continues this week and we have the privilege today of profiling Ms Mphokolo Makara who matriculated from Kingswood College in 1999.
“…I am grateful that I come from a family of love that always supports even my wildest dreams, knowing that no matter what happens, there is someone out there who cares and will be there, should I stumble…” – Mphokolo Makara
Women’s Month Series: “…The bigger your successes, the more likely you are to have big failures. Don’t be afraid of them, they’re important. You will probably learn more from your failures than your successes and they might actually enable you to become successful in a way you did not anticipate…” – Sarah Kraus ‘1999

Now, more than ever, we realise that online teaching can never fully replace face-to-face interactions and that classrooms, although the way they operate may change in the future, can never be replaced by full-time online teaching.
Before this weekend, we wouldn’t have thought ‘virtual’ reunions were even possible – but our classes of 1990, 2000 and 2010 showed us just how wrong we were!
Striving towards a common goal of trying to see how far in the world we could get by logging km’s for running, cycling or walking, our four schools managed a total of 8300km with over 800 submissions by members from the four schools.
K-DAY 2020 Is here! And here are some messages from the Kingswood community as we all, wherever we are in the world, celebrate the day and what it means to us.
The year in which the world stood still, driven apart by the covid-19 pandemic. The year in which the world started to realise what really matters. The year that saw our fours schools join together as one. And above all, the year that saw us working together towards a common goal.
Family ties and close connections run deep at Kingswood. The history between our past and our present is interwoven, and all add to the rich fabric that makes up our Kingswood family.
